Juniors

Becoming a Junior Member can be your first step towards a career in the medical field. We strongly encourage our members to attain certifications that allow them to ride as aides on our in-service ambulances as well as volunteer at community events to provide first aid.

Some of our previous Juniors have continued on with careers in EMS or medicine as EMTs, Medics, RNs, and PAs, as well as members who are pursuing medical school. Our meetings entail EMS-training and discussions. We try to present true-to-life scenarios that allow members to practice EMS skills that may mimic real-world conditions.

Junior Members are ages 14-18.  The content of our meetings are tailored to the interests of the group as well as recent 911-call data.  Juniors who qualify for riding our ambulances are required to put in time on the trucks every month as well as attending meetings.

Our meetings are held on Wednesdays at Station 87 from 6:00PM to 8:30PM.

Our upcoming schedule for our current 2024 year is as follows:

  • January 10th and 24th
  • February 7th and 21st
  • March 13th and 27th
  • April 10th and 24th
  • May 8th and 22nd
  • June 12th and 26th
  • July 10th and 24th
  • August 14th and 28th
  • September – Break for School year start-up
  • October 9th and 23rd
  • November 13th and 27th
  • December 11th and Happy Holidays!

Youth who are interested in learning more about this group can complete an online interest form during open enrollment periods.  The President of our Junior Program will contact interested candidates and arrange for an in-person or Zoom discussion with the President and Advisor(s) to align our mutual goals and expectations.  Invitations to their Junior meeting would follow after this discussion.  If the candidate attends their first meeting and decides that this group is a good fit, a completed Membership Packet needs to be returned to our organization within 14 days of that meeting.
