It has been quite a year at Uwchlan Ambulance Corps! Chief of Operations, Executive Director, grants, bunker gear, and heart monitors are just a few terms that reflect the positive changes our company has undergone.
The General Membership has set the stage for the type of leadership structure at Uwchlan Ambulance Corps by approving By-law changes placing control of the daily functions of the Corps to a professional staff consisting of an Executive Director and Chief of Operations. While volunteers still make up the Executive Board, the members thought it best to yield daily administrative responsibilities to a full time career staff.
Furthermore, this year Uwchlan Ambulance Corps has increased its presence in the community by teaching many important life saving CPR classes to various local establishments. Additionally, Uwchlan Ambulance assisted with First Aid Day at Uwchlan Hills Elementary, Shamona Creek Elementary, Uwchlan Hills Elementary, Lionville Elementary and Downingtown High School East Campus.
In conclusion, it has been a year of great progression for Uwchlan Ambulance Corps. It could not have been done without the diligent work from our volunteers and career staff, and continuing support from our incredible community!
On behalf of the Officers and Members of Uwchlan Ambulance, I would like to wish everyone a healthy, happy and prosperous 2008!
