Uwchlan Ambulance Corps. offers a variety of Continuing Education classes for EMS Providers including AHA, VFIS programs and more. For specific course options see below.
COURSE OFFERINGS:
American Heart Association Programs
Blended Courses: Flexible learning anywhere, anytime! Blended courses allow you to complete the didactic-portion of a course on-line and at your own pace. Upon completion of that portion of the course, the student(s) then complete a skills session. If a group of 6 or more providers in your office is interested in this option, we can schedule a skills-day at your location or ours, and the group can complete the online course by a pre-determined deadline prior to the skills-day.
In-person Courses: In-person, classroom-based courses are conducted entirely in either our classroom or at your business’ off-site location (space restrictions do apply) and include both didactic-lecturing and skills practice, when indicated.
You may attend the class(es) here at Uwchlan Ambulance Corps on a prescheduled date or we can host sessions at your location (6-person minimum). No additional costs are charged if you are within our service-area. If you are over 30 minutes away, a travel-fee may apply.

VFIS Programs
EVOC – Emergency Vehicle Operations Course
Driving an emergency services vehicle is a privilege and a position of tremendous responsibility in which proper training is critical. Participants in this course will have the opportunity to gain and/or verify a broad range of competencies associated with emergency vehicles. These competencies include the basic understanding of emergency response, vehicle dynamics and operations as well as the skills necessary for practical application.

Trailer Operations Course
This hands-on program educates responders on safe trailer operations, the tow vehicle, brake requirements, tow hitch, ball and coupler assembly, inspecting the vehicle, loading the trailer and driving with a trailer. After classroom discussion, participants test their knowledge on a skills course.

UTV / ATV Operators Course
This program addresses safety topics pertaining to UTVs and ATVs within an emergency service organization fleet including importance of safe vehicle operations, the need for continued training, the vehicle operator, protective gear, preplanning, basic safety and maintenance.
