Education

Uwchlan Ambulance Corps offers various a variety of certification, non-certification, and specialty courses through the American Heart Association (AHA), American Safety & Health Institute (ASHI), National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT), the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT), International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) and the Volunteer Firemen’s Insurance Services (VFIS).

We offer a combination of blended online courses and in-person classes.

BLENDED COURSESFlexible learning anywhere, anytime! Blended courses allow you to complete the didactic portion of a course online and at your own pace. Upon completion of that portion of the course, the student(s) then complete a skills session at a predetermined date. If a group of 6 or more providers in your office is interested in this option, we can schedule a skills-day at your location or ours. (Travel fees may apply outside of our service area)

IN-PERSON COURSES:  In-person, classroom-based courses are conducted entirely in either our classroom or at your business’ off-site location (space restrictions do apply) and include both didactic-lecturing and skills practice, when indicated. (Travel fees may apply outside of our service area)

HEALTHCARE PROVIDERS: The American Heart Association certification courses are typically required of healthcare providers and include CPR (BLS for the Healthcare Provider), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). Please view Healthcare Provider Courses for any of these options.

EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICE PROVIDERS: We also offer certification courses for Emergency Medical Technician, Advanced Emergency Medical Technician, and from NAEMT, ITLS, VFIS, and EMS-related free or low-cost continuing education. Please view Emergency Medical Service Providers

PROFESSIONALS, LAY PERSON, AND VOLUNTEERS: We offer certification courses in CPR and Basic First Aid for professionals and volunteers such as firefighters, law enforcement, teachers, scout leaders, emergency response teams, church groups, and coaches as well as parents. These courses utilize the American Health and Safety Institute (ASHI) curriculum. You may attend the class here at Uwchlan Ambulance Corps on a prescheduled date or we can host sessions at your location (6-person minimum). There is no additional charge if you are within our service area or less than 30 minutes away. If your location is over 30 minutes away, a travel fee may apply. Please view Community Education and Fundraiser for any of these options.
